Olympic is committed to maintaining sustainable pallet programs. Many are surprised to know that we work with our producing partners with a goal of achieving Zero Waste. How do we go about this? We use or reuse all material, from recycled nails to the tiniest bit of sawdust. Here are just a few of the ways.

Wooden Pallets Recycled

1.) Recycled and Rebuilt Pallets
A recycled pallet is used and repaired and passed through a cycle again. A pallet can have multiple cycles. Pallet management – retrieving, repairing, and reusing these pallets – is a vital component in meeting cost savings and recycling goals.

When pallets are returned and are unrepairable, the sections of lumber that are reusable for pallet production are sorted. From this lumber, pallets are remanufactured.

2.) Wood Waste
When a pallet cannot be recycled or repaired or the lumber cannot be used to rebuild or remanufacture pallets; there are still dozens of uses for wood waste. From nails to sawdust, nothing is wasted. Mulch, animal bedding, and fuel are just a few of the ways we recycle wood waste.

3.) Distribution and Office Systems
From carpooling into work, to the first cup of coffee, down to electronic paperwork, we use all our tools to make sure sustainability is a part of all we do.
